The method used to produce this image is based on information in the book "Symmetry in Chaos" by Michael Field and Martin Golumitsky. Created with the Fractal Science Kit fractal generator. See http://www.fractalsciencekit.com/ for details. Title: Re: Dreamcatcher I Post by: yv3 on March 03, 2012, 08:34:07 PM What a wonderful picture frame. Can such fractal can be rendered in a escape time method or do you have to draw each element serially?
Title: Re: Dreamcatcher I Post by: Ross Hilbert on April 29, 2012, 09:58:49 PM Hi yv3, sorry for the late reply!!! As you guessed, this fractal is not processed using an escape-time algorithm but rather using a processing algorithm like Apophysis; i.e., you record data about each point you visit during the orbit and use the resulting data to color the fractal. |
