Title: Fractice deep zoom question Post by: jcflysrc on February 14, 2012, 09:28:53 AM I'm pretty new to fractal programs, and so I don't know too much really about parameters, and what they mean or do. I am trying to do a deep zoom in Fractice, and so far I can get pretty far, but at some point, when I try to zoom any further, I get parallel horizontal lines of color across the screen. I would like to know why? What settings can I manipulate to be able to go deeper? I know I have seen zooms that were way deeper than what I am getting, and so if anyone could give me some tips, I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks in advance.

There is no precision limit in Fractice, you just need to enable Deep Zoom. Here's how: Show the Parameters window (View/Parameters) and you'll see it, it's the ninth parameter. Change its value from "No" to "Yes". Note that rendering will now be MUCH slower. If you have access to multiple fast PCs you may want to try distributed processing, i.e. where you run Fractice on one machine and FractServ on the others. There's stuff in the FAQ and manual about that. You also may need to increase the Math Precisions for very deep zooms. Sorry the manual is so lame. I never got around to finishing it cuz competition was too intense. |
