as tips for post editing..as example i found that render at  least 50% bigger then desired size, then apply a very mild gaussian blur before scaling down (about 1px blur for 3200X 2200 ) give  better results, and even if you may expect the opposite a similar blur produce more neat and sharp results (Obviously after the slightly blurred image is scaled down.)

also tuts that include also the use of other programs (bitmap editor as Gimp , Photoshop, or 3d app as Bryce, Blender, Zbrush... or...) will fit in 4

Yes, this is what we also have in mind, a sticky topic with collected links for tutorials FAQ and all other stuff.

My question to an admin would be if it is possible that several (selected) people can modify this sticky post for updating, not only admins?

I agree... But for some reason people keeps on doing the same things and tends to do the same images. Only a few try new things. And everybody asks for tutorials all the time. :whatever:

Sticky, pinned (well at least if not become needed )

Tutorials  :fiery: The best teacher is just Doing, if you're afraid of doing something wrong you probably should'nt be doing it at all.

I don't need tut to explain what to do and how, but i found useful that explaining how thing works.

And i also love just experiments but more for discover something new, NOT to rediscover the Wheel that somebody else already invented...i prefer learn about the wheel so i may try to invent a bike (supposing the bike was not already invented )

EDIT

@Jesse oopss i think i understand only now your reply
I think the solution may be ask to a mod to add a first message using something similar to the template i post below... then the first message may be edited to include the tut signaled by the replies.

@PhotoComix:
As the topic seems to fit very well and the issue that you should be able to modify your first post, why not edit it by replacing it with your Tutorial List?

Then you could edit it still in future, but my question would be if someone else, like admins, could edit it as well to add links for example?

What i have in mind are several categories like you suggested and a collection of links to already answered topics here in this forum (FAQ).
Would be good if anyone could easily find those topics and double questions might be avoided.

@Lenord:
It is the best compliment if i see many people generating great stuff without asking much about how to use the program.
Nevertheless, it is good to reduce answering things again and to give answers to not that clear functions (and there always be such).
And nobody is forced to read it.  :dink:

Wow! Thanks a lot Bib.

It is really thoughtful, to add the interesting area to add as an animation key for future reference. Very much useful and creative too! :)

And, I don't understand this, can you please explain.

'Lens box to keep straight line straight.'

Title: Re: Mandelbulb3D tutorial list
Post by: bib on March 17, 2012, 08:36:05 AM

And, I don't understand this, can you please explain.

'Lens box to keep straight line straight.'

Thanks for the kind words.

The full sentence should read "Check the 'Rect Lens' box to keep straight lines straight". I mean that if you choose a high FOVy (say, above 50) and don't check that box, all straight lines will look curved. Ticking the "Rect. Lens" box keeps them straight.

Good idea for a thread. It looks like you have my video tutorials listed already. I've just posted another tutorial that shows the process from Mandelbulb 3D to 3D printer via the voxel stack feature.  Kind of a combination of my video tutorials plus detailed step by step instructions.

I recently made another video tutorial. This one is a walk-though that shows my process for creating a simple morphing animation in Mandelbulb 3D.

I also have an older vid that covers the basics of animation that I didn't see listed in the main post.

Just a note about a new tutorial I posted in my journal at DeviantArt. It's about how to isolate structures in MB3D. It's nothing a seasoned user wouldn't know, but might help a new user when they have a main object they want to isolate from a cluttered background... http://haltenny.deviantart.com/journal/Isolating-Structures-In-MB3D-358743819 (http://haltenny.deviantart.com/journal/Isolating-Structures-In-MB3D-358743819)

Feel free to add this to the list of tutorials, ignore it, or delete this post as you see fit.

Hi, I made my tutorial in Spanish because there are already many tuts in English, but there are really few in Spanish, that I know of. So no, I think there's enough material in English.

How to 360 a fractal picture for facebook

Its not hard> open the 3D navigator window and click the
small arrow lower right to open the bottom "drawer"  then there
is an option for pano camera. [There is also an option on main
window "Camera" tab]

You will want to set your image to 2:1 aspect by clicking the
empty one at the bottom and adjusting manually like 4000x2000
[The higher the better because it will be at a 2:1 aspect]
Witch is critical.

If your image background isnt showing up as well as you
want try to change the Far plane up and down with F1 and F2 of
found on the lower drop down menu on the navigator in the bottom
left corner.

Once you save it as a jpeg you have to edit the JPEG
metadata by right click>properties>details and enter RICOH into
Make and RICOH THETA S for camera Model save and up load to
facebook or any website that can do it as well.

Big thank to Fractalated Visions on Facebook for the help on my
first piece and these directions and hope that this helps a lot
more people as it helped me as well.
