Title: Animation Is Not Rendering Predicted Frames - video guide? Post by: ant123 on January 30, 2012, 03:04:20 PM I am learning animation, So i have set 2 frames, 1 and 2, the first frame is a macro, and the second is a zoom-in, the only formula tweak is a tiny morph of amazing box scale from .9 to .92... the result is the picture underneath.
Why didn't the animation start at frame 1? my animation looks totally noob!!! If i do a simple zoom, can i choose 100/200/500 subframes to render, and it should be smooth? Thanks! If you choose Quadratic Bezier as the interpolation method, the animation will almost never hit the keyframes, except if you duplicate them. Try Linear interpolation to compare. Needs some testing before you get familiar with the animation mode :) I play a lot with the Render preview to see what happens.

I talk a little about quadratic vs linear and show a quick example, at about 5:00 in the vid. Might clear things up a bit..

in case of zooming, better make many keyframes with only moderate zoomings than one big zoom because the interpolation is not optimal for zooming plus moving. I guess bib is also right that you crossed an object to far so that clipping occurs, in these cases you have also to use more keyframes. Why you didn't hit the keyframes was already answered. There is no urgent reason why i use bezier instead of catmul rom, i just think it is also useable and don't produces overshooting.
