Title: Greetings Fractal Lovers! Post by: jcflysrc on January 28, 2012, 05:34:40 PM Howdy folks! Let me just say, I am new here, and a total noob. Fractals are beautiful, and SO interesting, I just have to give it a try. I am not a brilliant mind, like some of you obviously are, but I have enough curiosity to try and learn something new here. Math IS NOT my strong point, but I am still intrigued by the fractal creation process, and I hope I can get a grip on some of the basics...with you fine creative peoples help of course.
My main interest of late, has been music creation, using such programs as LMMS, and FL Studio. My hope is to eventually create some amazing 3D fractal animations to combine with my music for some interesting presentations. So expect me to ask questions initially to get started. I am presently fooling around with Mandebulb 3D, and Mandelbulber, and must say, this stuff is addictive. So many beautiful fractal "scapes" to explore. So it's nice to be here, and I hope I can gleen the required knowledge from you geniuses, and I will say up front in advance...I appreciate ALL the help I get. Anyway, have a nice day, and I wish all of you the best! Jim Title: Re: Greetings Fractal Lovers! Post by: eiffie on January 28, 2012, 05:50:07 PM Nice to cross paths with you. I am looking to start creating music for my fractal vids so I will check out the two you mentioned. Thanks and hope you enjoy your time here. There is so much to learn!
Title: Re: Greetings Fractal Lovers! Post by: JodyVL on January 28, 2012, 05:51:58 PM Hellooooo jcflysrc! ;D Well, welcome! First off, many of us here (myself included) are not geniuses at all. And quite a few (again myself =P ) don't even have strong maths backgrounds. Me, I mean, I loved maths in school and was good with it, but never got the chance to go to University and get into the really juicy stuff... So while 2D fractals I grasp, mathematically, the 3D stuff I've contented myself to the realms of art instead of mathematics. For now! :D Maybe you've already seen it(?) but I have a blog about fractals, and on it, a Mandelbulb 3D tutorial: http://mandelubber.blogspot.com/ Apparently it has helped quite a few aspiring fractalnauts already, so give it a look =) Unfortunately I haven't gotten to videos yet.. It's all still a big mystery to me hehe... But I will soon, I hope. There's just sooo much to learn about the program, and with Jesse constantly updating it, and my own personal problems, it's difficult to get up to speed! ;P So again, welcome, and hey, if you make any sort of headway making videos, and feel like documenting things as you go along, I'd really appreciate your notes ;) ... Tchau for now! Abroços do Brasil  |
