Title: Ultra Fractal now available in native OSX form (10.5+) Post by: David Makin on January 28, 2012, 02:08:50 PM Hi all, message from Frederik Slijkerman (with permission):
********** Hi all, For the past couple of years, I've been working on a native Mac version of Ultra Fractal and this is now nearing completion! I've decided to release a public beta version to make sure to find and fix as many bugs as possible before the official release. If you have a Mac and would like to try this beta version, you can download it here: http://www.ultrafractal.com/download/macbeta.html (http://www.ultrafractal.com/download/macbeta.html) Any bug reports or comments in general are most welcome on the Ultra Fractal mailing list, or you can send them to me directly at info@ultrafractal.com. This beta version is feature-complete and all features should work as designed, however there still might be bugs here and there. Note that the help file is not complete yet. The beta will expire on March 1, 2012. To see what's new and different in the Mac version, open the Readme.txt file in the downloaded disk image. Thanks! Frederik Slijkerman ********** Anyone who's both a Mac user and likes UF will definitely prefer the Mac version - assuming of course your Mac is as fast or faster than your Windows system/s ;) Title: Re: Ultra Fractal now available in native OSX form (10.5+) Post by: David Makin on January 29, 2012, 01:22:16 PM For anyone wanting to try bulbs and boxes in UF (e.g. on the Mac) you can either use Ron Barnett's 3D+ fractal formulas in reb.ulb or mine here:

Hi all, Because the current Mac beta version expires tomorrow, I've uploaded a new version of the public Mac beta (beta 5): http://www.ultrafractal.com/download/macbeta.html (http://www.ultrafractal.com/download/macbeta.html) This version contains the following changes: - Finished help file. - Help for formulas now works correctly. - Explore window now shows circle at the original position. - Fixed several bugs with drag-and-drop in the browser. - Fixed bug that caused pop-up menus to appear at the bottom-left corner of the screen when the application is inactive. - Various smaller fixes. Please let me know if you find any problems with this version. Thanks for testing! Frederik Slijkerman |
