Title: Introduction: Chris Hayton Post by: eNZedBlue on October 03, 2006, 02:06:14 PM Hi,
I'm a computer programmer living in Melbourne, Australia (originally from New Zealand). I've been working as a professional games programmer for the last 5 years, specialising in graphics programming for handheld units such as the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS. I've had a strong interest in fractals for many years, but only really started creating my own images about a year ago, as a hobby thing. I like to focus on line-based fractals as well as Mandelbrot/Julia fractals, and enjoy finding corollaries between fractals and "sacred geometry" found in religious iconography, occult & pagan runes, and other forms of geometrical spiritual symbolism. I also like taking a "sacred geometry" symbol and figuring out a way to "fractalise" it. I've also experimented with texturing and textual effects on the Mandelbrot set. Here's my Renderosity page: http://excalibur.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?user_id=408159 (http://excalibur.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?user_id=408159) Here's a couple of my galleries: http://www.enzedblue.com/Fractals/Fractals.html (http://www.enzedblue.com/Fractals/Fractals.html) http://www.enzedblue.com/Eye2Eye2Eye/Eye2Eye2Eye.html (http://www.enzedblue.com/Eye2Eye2Eye/Eye2Eye2Eye.html) I'm looking forward to participating in this forum, and hope to be able to contribute something of value. Cheers :) Title: Re: Introduction: Chris Hayton Post by: heneganj on October 03, 2006, 02:53:42 PM Welcome to the forums, eNZedBlue! You have some fantastic and very unique images on your sites. Our concepts seem to arise from the way our brain is structured. Since we are but a small fragment of the whole fractal universe, it is no surprise that the symbols we use for spiritual things may be found in fractal images. Mathematics is a symbolic language, after all. :) "As above, so below" Title: Introduction: Chris Hayton Post by: Jules Ruis on October 04, 2006, 09:12:17 AM But also Mathamatical formulars can be of an extreme Beauty. |
