Title: y23 of www.y23.com/fractal says hello!
Post by: y23 on October 02, 2006, 10:37:37 PM

Hi to everyone!!

    http://www.y23.com/fractal/ (http://www.y23.com/fractal/)

has some good ones!!

We even managed to sell one or two.

But when we visited the BUCHMESSE FRANKFURT (bookfair)
the wall-calendar makers threw their hands into the air:

"not another fractal calendar/poster"

so it seems that fractals are NOT popular. People don't spend money on it.

Is that your experience, too?

It may be so...I may find out soon enough. I think that as in almost everything else a flood of quick-and-easy fractal "art" creates a barrier that quality work has to push hard to get through. I know that in surfing fractal sites I will take a glance, say to myself "Spirals again...yawn..." and move on. If an image grabs the eye it shouldl find buyers.

My friend with the art gallery surmised that fractal art would go over well with the "new age" types.

Never use the defult "spectrum" like colour map. Use direct orbit traps insted of just normal orbit traps, try having at least two layers, maybe one with TIA and one normal for example and avoid overly semetrical objects. If it looks like its come straight though the time warp from the 60's disgard it.

Of couse if it looks too natralisic then you have defeted the object of making a fractal, its got to be a bit whacky.

Sry, I was rambling there

Welcome :) I hope you enjoy the forums

btw, there is a problem with your site, I can't acsess it properly.

I think Jason should invite the responsible people here to FF - Meet & Greet and to have a look at wonderful Fractal Art and websites :-)))

Yesterday I spent some time on most of the members websites - all my compliments here !

Calenders - For myself I think a Fractal Art calendar has a good chance at the moment and in the future too.
Logical - quality is the condition ( Voraussetzung in german ) here.
