Title: A Fractal Theme For The Forum? Post by: Sockratease on March 20, 2007, 05:15:27 PM I've been "re-skinning" another SMF Forum with things like this:
(http://lissawhipped.com/smf/Themes/princess/images/off.gif) and (http://lissawhipped.com/smf/Themes/princess/images/on.gif) Those replaced the No New Posts, and New Posts bits on the front page. And here are fractals reflecting in certain buttons, just for effect: (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m278/sockratease/quote.png) (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m278/sockratease/modify.png) (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m278/sockratease/home.png) (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m278/sockratease/admin.png) That forum has a black background, so there's no need for transparent layers, but it's easy to do that as well. I was wondering if this might not make for a decent "Next Contest" here! A Fractal theme for Fractal Forums! Waddayathink? Did I ask about this before? I don't recall... I've Slept since then! Waddayathink? Definitely an interesting idea and possibility. But I do not know about having the "winner" be used as the default for this Forum. I am sure that the top three choices could be offered as alternative themes for others to use, if they so desired. :) There would need to be some "rules" as to what all would be part of a "Theme Contest", and to whether or not the winning themes could be modified to fit nicely as alternative themes for this Forum. Of course, I would think that the artists would need to agree beforehand that their work could be modified as needed afterwards, before the winning choices were uploaded to choose from. Anything less might look amateurish or tacky. |
