Post by: gandreas on February 22, 2007, 05:04:24 PM
quadrium 2.2 (http://projects.gandreas.com/quadrium) is finally out the door.

An application that combines mathematics, data flow models and genetic programming techniques, wrapped into a standard Macintosh user interface that allows you to create an infinite variety of artistic images, fractals, textures (including support for seamless textures), and backgrounds, and then animate them.

quadrium allows you to easily create a wide variety of different images, from sophisticated fractals (including "custom formulas" and completely programmable nodes) to M.C. Escher, by wiring together smaller building blocks (over 300 to choose from). It also takes advantage of the powers and features of OS X, including:
  • Universal binary
  • Supports multiple CPUs to increase the speed of rendering
  • Supports Altivec/SSE to further increase the speed of rendering
  • Image can be animated, rendered into a QuickTime movie
  • Share your images with others locally using Bonjour
  • Share your images worldwide using your .Mac account
  • Can automatically create an iPhoto gallery of your work (or any other image workflow that you can script with AppleScript or Automator)
  • Renders/Prints high resolution images and movies in the background, allowing you to continue to create
  • Nesting image nodes, including support for layers
  • User programmable "quadriumScript" nodes, compiled to native code for speed
  • Unlimited undo
  • Spotlight metadata importer
  • AppleScriptability
  • ColorSync support
  • 300 pages of documentation include (Tutorial, Users Guide, Reference) and online help.

Requires OS X running 10.3.9 or 10.4 (native on Intel), a G5 or CoreDual recommended.
