Title: New Here Too! Post by: Roseb44170 on February 22, 2007, 10:55:11 AM I have been so busy with work and almost forgot about my love for fractals until I got an email reminding me about this group.
The program that I use to make fractals is Ultra - very powerful program with a lot of options. When I first got the program I was playing with the "buttons" for about 3 hours! Again I say this program has a LOT of options! I used to belong to the mailing list but there were so many posts that it really filled up my mailbox too much. :-[ I've had other fractal programs but they just don't have as many options as Ultra. Besides Fractal Forge and UF, what are some of these other fractal programs that you have had?? :) Those 2 programs are the ones that I have had but I recently found out about apophysis from this board! I downloaded it and see another obsession for potential fun (btw - thanks you guys! ;) Basically I like to create fractals for fun and my objective is to be able to have a basic shape and be able to make different variants of it (something that looks easy to do with apophysis). I know it will help me in business as well since I am a consultant and some of the fractals look just like jewelery. The kind of thing that jewelery designers can use when they are designing their stuff. I'm not a designer myself but with these fractal programs I'm so very tempted. So far I have just a couple of actual fractals that I have made on my website but I have countless ones that I have done offline! I remember seeing a website where someone will design a fractal using a person's birthdate or social security #(although I don't recommend giving out one's ss#) :-[ By the way this gives me a great idea of an entry to post to my blog But getting back to here I love creating fractals - I'm just to the point now where I'm trying to control how the beginning of the fractal looks first so that I can make different varients of it. |
