Title: Hi There Post by: avatarium on October 16, 2006, 01:21:39 PM My real name is Paul and I've only recently started playing around with Fractal Arts, mainly inspired by the plethora of them over at DeviantArt. I use Apophysis to the best of my ability, although I am steadily learning new tricks and working out how bits work. Trial n error is a great learning tool, or so I've found out.
I'll probably upload some of my works in due time, but the few I've created so far are in my DA gallery (http://avatarium.deviantart.com (http://avatarium.deviantart.com)) as well as other artwork and photographs, you have been warned. Look forward to seeing some of your work.

Greetings, Paul A. Metcalfe !! Welcome to this particular Forum !! Briefly visited your DeviantArt site and saw some of the Apophysis images you have created (along with the golden bathing suit). Was wondering if you have tried using any other fractal generating software that is available ?? Title: Re: Hi There Post by: avatarium on October 16, 2006, 08:16:43 PM Greetings, Paul A. Metcalfe !! At the moment, I've only tried Apophysis although if you could suggest anything for a novice, then I'd look into/at it. With over 600 various fractal related applications available, and not knowing your own capabilities with new software, I would be hard-pressed to say what you should try out. Plus, I do not wish to influence you with my own preferences to specific fractal programs. I can offer you a few links to start you off with: http://www.Nahee.com/Census/Tried-Use_Counts.html (http://www.Nahee.com/Census/Tried-Use_Counts.html) http://www.Nahee.com/PNL/Fractal_Software.html (http://www.Nahee.com/PNL/Fractal_Software.html) http://www.Nahee.com/Census/Most_Used_Counts.html (http://www.Nahee.com/Census/Most_Used_Counts.html) Title: Re: Hi There Post by: matera on October 17, 2006, 07:07:21 AM I always recommend Fractal Explorer, because it is free and very versatile. It is the only program that I use regularly, though I still try others now and then.
"Heart of Destiny" is beautiful. :) Title: Hi There Post by: Jules Ruis on October 17, 2006, 08:49:39 AM I think that the Fractal Imaginator (Fi) belongs to the top ten of fractal software.
In my opinion it is the best software for the combination of Science and Art. Title: Re: Hi There Post by: avatarium on October 17, 2006, 09:42:04 AM Many thanks for the replies. I'll have a look at some of your suggestions for software, as well as trawl through the lists that Nahee posted.
I seem to be getting on pretty well with Apophysis, but I'm willing to experiment with other software to see what they're capable of. If you need any assistance with just about any fractal application you decide to try out, just post a message here, or send me one privately. I have used most of them and should be able to give answers. Title: Re: Hi There Post by: alan2here on October 17, 2006, 12:05:22 PM Welcome |
