Mihaly | June 28, 2013, 07:39:43 AM What I like mostly is the connectedness of the 3D plot it figures as mainly "what is possible" and gives sense to the depth function. It would be a waste to diminish these attempts at 3d effectivesness good work, I say. |
hermann | March 04, 2010, 06:57:50 PM Very nice picture. |
cKleinhuis | March 24, 2008, 02:20:57 PM ehrm, in fact it is the plot of 2 mandelbrot sets, using distance estimator, with different pertubation values plus added a bit perlin turbulence to it ![]() so, i do calculate 2 mandelbrot distance functions, and one turbulence function and then for getting a height i multiply all those values together... the streaks or clear lines come from the turbulence, and if you look closely enough you see the second mandelbrot, some arms can not be the ones from the big mandelbrot ... the location is simply the upper diagonal left bulb .... |
Duncan C | March 24, 2008, 02:11:36 PM That's really striking. Is that a 3D plot of a standard quadratic Mandelbrot set? Would you mind sharing the coordinates? And what did you use for the height value and color value? (This is my favorite so far, but I'm doing to wait until there are more entries before I rate it.) Duncan |
