Description: All of you who do not like fractals mixed with images, close your eyes  snore
(I am a bit ambivalent myself... wink )

Being an old surrealistic painter I had to do something like this one day, and now the right fractal found its way to my rendering window....  afro

I like the idea Socratese, next time I will add some levitating American football players, it would make this image even more surreal smiley
(If I can find my levitating American football players images, I don't remember where I put them…)

I actually like the idea!!! No kidding!

We are all weird!  afro

About Dof, it can actually enhance an image if the background is fuzzy and you want to focus on a beautiful detail, same goes for photography… But of course, compared to Lissa, DOF sucks. smiley

@Power8: Thanks, glad you like it, yes it  is a rotated mandelbox, the whole Rhino-series is, starting with the "overview":  http://mandelwerk.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d33k7ji The rest are close ups of that image.

I see more something like a football  (US Meaning) on a "tee"  (or whatever they call those things) ready to be kicked!

I don't mind the birds, but they are out of place with what I saw in the fractal.

Still, very nice work!

I must be REALLY Weird then...  I just LOVE mixing fractals and images  (especially images of The Woman I Love!)  (I trust everyone has seen Lissa by now)  but...  I can't stand depth of field!  I see no reason to introduce blur to a fractal and obscure details which could otherwise be clear.

But it's OK - I like being Weird   nasty teeth

On the contrary, it looks great! Good idea! The birds are a nice touch. Is that a rotated mandelbox detail?

Thanks for all the nice comments mates! smiley

As you say jwm, there are so many sides to this.
The reason I am ambivalent to add images is the fact that a well done image of a fractal should stand on its own, fractals are so beautiful in themselves... BUT in this case I felt it added the missing dimension to the image smiley

And Lenord, I agree, you can still imagine the pure fractal if you want, so...

Thank you Reallybigname, I woldn't call them weirdos, everybody has their right to their own opinion, I like both pure and DOF:ed and manipulated ones.  afro

@Knighty: Thanks! And the seagulls high up in the sky... (If you checked out the higher resolution at DA)

Killer piece, bravo...nothing wrong with using a BG, sometimes it makes all the difference. No one can tell me, not even The Purists that that figger their feces is so consolidated it can't possibly be odorous, that a BG or a bit of postwowking is somehow cheating and doesn't enhance even the most technically proficient machine made image.

And another wow!
The mixing gives it scale. It looks more realistic this way. And the head touching the clouds...  smiley
