Description: Here my first submission for this year. After preparing some new sequences for a live performance in june, I decided in short-term, to work out a video for the annual contest. It's surely not perfect, but it's the best I could do in just one day of editing. some of the sequences were published in a not so serious preview a few weeks ago, so I still consider them as new. A special thanks to "The Black Parrot" (http://theblackparrot.bandcamp.com/) for the fantastic sound-track "divergence". It is published under a creative commons licence (BY-NC), so I could legally use it here. I think this track is perfectly suitable for my kind of animation. Pauldelbrot | August 25, 2014, 11:17:32 PM I forgot to post this earlier: Thanks. I gave this one a five during the voting period, after successfully downloading and watching it. |
taurus | June 26, 2014, 09:07:14 AM there was no download link, 'cause I didn't activate it. Temporarily I enabled downloading for this video, so you should no longer have problems to download it. You'll need an up to date mp4, h264 codec to watch propperly. Normally then the problems directly in Vimeo should also disappear. Keep me updated, if your problem persists. |
Pauldelbrot | June 26, 2014, 06:57:48 AM For some reason, I can't seem to find a link to download this one at its Vimeo page, unlike the other Vimeo-hosted entries. That's a problem, because for some reason I can't fathom *cough*mymonopolistcompetitionhatingISPisalsoacontentprovider*cough* I tend to get glitches and hiccups with playback when playing video from Vimeo directly in their player. Does anyone have a download link for this that works? |

taurus | June 07, 2014, 07:37:16 AM thanks Andreas for the frank talk. I really appreciate that. It only shows, that you really took a close look and I don't see an offense at all. In most pionts you are simply right. The flicker e.g. is a problem, I never got rid of, since the discovery of sea invader, which is the seed of all that stuff. It's a property of that particular type of julia set. I accept that for the very nice morphology. Just in general: I decided wetnesday after work, to give that a try. I sat down on thursday morning 8am and finished work at 10pm. Thats it. I used almost every single unpublished snippet I produced the last two years and for sure they all have different tempi. But as musician I can say, there are some clips in here, that match the bpm of the music - not many, but there are... Under that circumstances I'm pretty happy with the result. And with your critics I have enough motivation to improve that further in future projects. ![]() |
thargor6 | June 07, 2014, 01:51:43 AM Awesome work as usual! I hope you will not take it as offence, I have four points of really so-meant "constructive criticism": 1. I never felt that the music really fits to the motion. Either the motion was slightly too fast (especially in the early beginnig) or too slow (most of the time). 2. Too many of the morphing effects cause a flickering/moire-effect. I do not know if this was intended, but I felt that it took away much of the dynamics (just my experience, hard to explain) 3. Sometimes the blur/DoF is just too much (even it looks cool, the watcher has no clue why the blur suddenly occupies half of the screen) 4. The metaphor of water-breathing is not very convincing all the time. E.g. not enough expression of water/breathing Still a five-star-work for me. But I know you as a pro and wanted to give you serious feedback, even it it may sound negative, I really like what you have created :-) Andreas |
taurus | June 05, 2014, 10:37:37 AM Thanks a lot to all of you - I'm overwhelmed ![]() Be sure LhoghoNurbs, that I am as clueless as everyone, but I'm really happy, that you enjoyed my little video - and found theese amusing and encouraging words... Thanks again! ![]() |
LhoghoNurbs | June 03, 2014, 03:47:19 PM When I saw that the author is Taurus, I thought, it should be a nice movie. I got some popcorn and a drink ... and I forgot about them till the end of the movie. It was great experience!!! I imagined I am a nano-robot floating/flying inside the body of some creature... I'm sure, that if needed, Taurus could make an animated fractal atlas of the human body organs and tissues ... downto the individual proteins. |
