Order and Chaos
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: A discrete Volterra-Lotka Julia set with three attractors: infinity (captures outside tannish points); a discrete cycle with a period near two dozen (dark points within purplish blobs, capturing those blobs); and a strange attractor that consists of a cycle of 11 separated components, each internally a convoluted and fractally-folded curve somewhat like the Henon attractor (bright yellow, capturing the yellow-to-reddish points in the pinwheel shape and outside of the purple inclusions).
