Mandelbulb ring - 3D printed in Sterling silver (92,5% silver)
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: I have made many prototypes in different materials before I ordered this one in Silver, many of them are nice (I will post an image of them all later) but this one is perfect, the most detailed and most wearable of them all. The details are right at the limits for being printable in silver, I got a mail about it from Shapeways... they told me they should TRY to print it... and it worked out amazingly well… This model has an inner diameter of 20mm - other sizes at request. More images / buy it at Shapeways: http://shpws.me/pqUt (Cheaper version in frosted detail plastic available too) Mandelbulb 3D > Fiji > Meshlab > Netfabb > Shapeways Stats: Total Favorities: 0 View Who Favorited Filesize: 222.12kB Height: 852 Width: 1200 Keywords: printed mandelbulb ring silver Posted by: KRAFTWERK October 11, 2013, 04:27:11 PM Rating: by 3 members. KRAFTWERK | October 12, 2013, 09:03:28 AM Thank you Guys... And Louis... of course I am! ANd Madman, I am sure it could be even nicer with some post work from a silversmith but I have to show how it looks fresh from the 3D printer, this is what you get if you order it. It would be nice to hear what you would have done with it though... |
Madman | October 11, 2013, 07:20:15 PM The design looks great Johan, but as an amateur silversmith I would suggest some (well, actually... a lot ) post work. I was tempted to order one and modify it, but the price is somewhat steep for a little experiment ;-) |
JoeFRAQ | October 11, 2013, 05:36:12 PM Wonderfully executed and original project, Johan! Congrats on this addition to your 3D printed works. |
LMarkoya | October 11, 2013, 04:40:31 PM Looking very cool Johan, and its great you've followed up and made several versions to conquer the whole thing...I see that its modeled on your right hand, does that mean you're married to the bulb? |
