Black Pearl - Troubles Again
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: Done in UltraFractal 5.04. No imported images. The only manipulation was due to a bug in the program, that refuses to render small elements. So had to render the stern part with the windows and the lanterns bigger, than scaled down in Photoshop.  Otherwise UltraFractal seems perfectly suitable to make concrete ships.
Gees, one never learns... Just received an email by the UltraFractal author, the incredible Frederik Slijkerman and he solved my problem. For very small elements one has to change the drawing mode (if it is so set) from "Guessing" to some of the other 2. This made my day as new more complex works will come then :-) So with this in mind the picture could be done entirely as a raw fractal!

Thanks to all for the nice comments! I plan a small but very useful tutorial about how to make realistic objects formed (in reality) by concentric circles in UF. First I'll expose some classic theory how to draw correct ellipses in different perspectives and next will go up to actual objects like barrels, vases, glasses, why not even a Napoleonic cannon with it's support. Lot of stuff is formed by concentric circles and people will learn some important principles. As I stated the solution to this problem with the small objects is fundamental, now a huge possibilities are open. There is another problem too I meet when dealing than 30 layers and several masks on some of them, then usually appears when I paste some new mask, move/scale some layers and eventually press Undo. Then the Undo doesn't work as supposed, instead the layer disappears and it's first mask becomes the actual layer. Very often this spreads down to several layers more this way making the restore of the work very problematic. I contacted the author of UF Frederik Slijkerman and he'll gladly  try to fix it, have to prepare him a UPR that will show this bug.

Even if I'm not a fan of this style, I imagine you are really mastering UF and I admire the technical performance. This one is absolutely awesome. You have to write a tutorial! cheesy;)

afro awesome work! so awesome i cant believe it, images like this is what people really make insane when saying it is just some formulas

although it is a pitty that those ships wouldnt occur if zooming in ... wink

No, no. I always try to keep in pure, raw fractals category where the work can be rerendered up to what the RAM permits. Sure if one imports images they will degrade if rendered big. I was very irritated this time to not be able to render it at once, but now the problem is solved. However needed 9 masks to shape the ship's hull btw. I use lot of masks.

No there isn't anything imported. Also the UF author send me a solution for my problem, so it could be rendered entirely in UF as a raw fractal. I'll add this to the description. Now much more detailed works will follow.

Always thought you were importing models into these, that's amazing
