Description: A story about meetings and repulsions below the surface...

A curious find I did in a slightly tweaked formula... guess which formula is the "base" for the Starfish...

Glad to hear that you like it Torsten, and I do agree about the sudden end... it was meant to be much longer, but I could not make it in time  sad I might do the full version some day...  A Beer Cup

Wonderful implementation of the theme, supported by an apt soundtrack. So full points for the artistic expression, especially as you show here, that it doesn't require expensive fx, when the concept is consistent. A little deduction of points for the technical part, mainly because of the sudden end, that leaves this opus look and sound unfinished.
But all in all a great work!  A Beer Cup

Liked the shape. Liked the motion. Liked the colour. Liked the music. But ... did not like ... my inability to make such animations.

This is the way it works yes. smiley

And I know now what you mean, the second they intersect... you do not need any "layers" to avoid that, you only need to avoid it smiley I also could have removed a couple of frames to "hide it" but I really liked the idea of them passing through each other. I am no a big fan of reality wink

AND a CORRECTION, it is not a heightmap in the starting scene, I have to give credit to our Luca Darkbeam, it is his Gnarly I used!!!  A Beer Cup

by layering i mean a way to control multiple formulas, the way it is done right now is limiting the full possibilities, in a 3d fractal program, layers would mean to include as many formulas as one wishes, layering might be a wrong word for it, layering could stay as everyone thinks, real z-layering of render outputs, but a formula definition to define multiple formulas into one DE is what i mean/want cheesy .... for you people

Sorry Christian, I didn't see your comment before...
Not sure what you mean, but all I use is DE combinate, the first scene with a heightmap and later the two fractals combined...

i see, decombinate allows to combine formulas that are hybrid (e.g. it 1..2 formulas1..2) and use that as one to be mindistanced by formulas 2..3 ... wink was never aware of the functionality really

but as we can see all, this needs to be represented as layering mechanism ... wink

i just wonder how it is done, is that 2 clips layered with zbuffer !?
because at one point they move into eachother but as far as i understand mb3d cant do such
