Description: This image was supplied by a French nurse working with the Khmu people of northern Laos. Even with her limited mathematics knowledge, she instantly recognised it as being based on a standard negative scale rotated Mandelbox, but maybe somewhat altered.
She tried to buy it off the children but understandably they refused to sell. The children told her that they were given the kite by a strange white monk at the magic kiosk wat (monastery temple ) in the forest, but she assumed that was just their childish imagination.
