Mandelbrot of Mandelbrots
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: Outside is colored by a combination of dwellgrad angle and smoothed iteration. Inside is imagemapped by a combination of internal angle and smoothed iteration. This time, the mapping is such that images crowd toward the component centers but not also toward the component edges, where there is an outermost ring of finitely-many clones of the image. Oh, and that image is itself of the Mandelbrot set, with the interior of that one mapped, using a combination of internal angle and smoothed iteration, to a silvery-pastel two-dimensional gradient that makes ripply waves.
