Infinite Wing Vortex
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: An infinite wing vortex. (Actually, it's a discrete Volterra-Lotka Julia rendering, with h = 0.7715104152 and rho = 0.7488802063. Coloring is by closest approach of points with bounded orbits to initial point of orbit: the first iterate is saved, another 49 iterations are performed, and then the closest of the next 9950 iterates to the first is noted. The distance of this point determines the color chosen from a gradient.)

Thanks. It took ages to compute because it needed a lot of AA for the fine filigreed details.
