As for saying "Mandelbrot", I called that way because is the classic Mandelbrot formula but applied to real numbers. More info in this thread. I combined this with the ballfold transformation as the one used in the Mandelbox. The coloring method is based on the final values after some iterations, not escape time because the interesting results are in the range -2,0, where the formula doesn't diverge. |
