1,-1 mandelbrot
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: This is a two parameter mandelbrot escape time plot, where the parameters p and q multiply the angles for the real mandelbrot equation (x,y) = (r cos theta, r sin theta) -> (r^n cos n p theta, r^2 sin n q theta). This particular one has parameters 1, -1. When the parameters are n=2, p=1, q=1, we get the ordinary mandelbrot set.

There is a gallery of these  here

Yes, for these parameters it is a mandelbar. I posted it because it is just one of the infinite number of variations we get when we vary p and q in the formula.

Looks like an ordinary mandelbar?
