msltoe | September 01, 2010, 03:26:27 AM Bent-Winged Angel: Thanks for commenting which reminds me to reply to Kraftwerk: Kraftwerk: I'm using my own rendering program which has no GUI. I'd be happy to share it with anyone who's interested. I use it to rapidly test various formulas. The fractal here is an XYZ Juliabulb (interchanging X<->Y if X*X<Y*Y, etc. combined with using a simple quaternion mandelbrot formula) Then, the cutting planes are at x=0,y=0, and z=0. So I have an "if" statement that tests for those three planes. Then it's just a matter of rotating the object, which is trial and error with my program. These planes are pretty but I bet anything else isn't, because it's cutting through the only conformal parts of the fractal. -mike |
Bent-Winged Angel | August 31, 2010, 04:50:48 PM Brilliantly done. Goes with out saying that if KRAFTWORK does not know how it was done.... |
KRAFTWERK | August 05, 2010, 10:45:20 AM I think these cutaways are really cool msltoe! I am curious about the cutting settings, how do you get the right values to make these "triangular" cutouts, I am a bit lost in this function... (it is mandelbulb 3D - right? ) |
