KRAFTWERK | March 03, 2013, 12:18:09 PM Welcome to the forum Adam. It is a long story, check out this thread: http://www.fractalforums.com/tutorials/voxel-image-stack-and-then-what/ |
alsamanela | March 03, 2013, 11:48:01 AM Hi KRAFTWERK, Could you explain how you managed to export fractals in to geometry? Many thanks, Adam |
KRAFTWERK | March 02, 2013, 08:36:13 AM Buon appetito Luca! |
DarkBeam | March 01, 2013, 01:36:39 PM Heh, that's a good dinner |
KRAFTWERK | February 02, 2013, 09:17:04 PM Thank you surrealista, it is a great compliment! |
surrealista1 | February 02, 2013, 07:38:53 PM you are right, this fractal is absolutely edible |
KRAFTWERK | February 02, 2013, 04:45:23 PM I know you can print in chocolate already. It has a lot of potential but fractals are still a bit incompatible with 3D printing, it is really hard to get all the details you want. There is many limitations in what is printable I ordered 6 or 7 prints and they managed to print two of them... |
John Smith | February 02, 2013, 04:22:13 PM If I understand the principle of 3-D printing correctly, you could probably make one that prints in some sort of candy. I can see it now: Gummybrots! Also this fractal, printed in translucent plastic would make a great chandelier. 3-D printing has all kinds of potential with fractals. |
KRAFTWERK | February 02, 2013, 02:36:57 PM Thank you Brent, I see what you mean. And I like to hear it, because I remember what Dalí once said about good art / architecture... That it should look edible... |
dainbramage | February 02, 2013, 02:21:45 PM Great work Johan! It reminds me of the edible cake decorations made of hard icing. This would be among the very ornate, of course. |
KRAFTWERK | February 02, 2013, 11:49:28 AM Thank you, thank you thank you! I really think it is mind blowing to pull things like this out of the numbers into the "real" world. Glad you like it too! And thanks for the side dish bib, feel free to send it to me any day! |
lxh | February 02, 2013, 10:38:45 AM Lol ... great idea and shape, Johan! Bon appétit |
bib | February 01, 2013, 06:34:17 PM May I suggest some alien cabbage as a side dish? |
knighty | February 01, 2013, 06:25:51 PM Is it still alive? Beware, it might bite! |
