LMarkoya | July 30, 2012, 08:38:59 PM Wow...that is exciting news for Artmatic and Voyager...and I for one can't wait, would LOVE to be doing Mandelbulbs in Artmatic....any idea when you might release it? I've always thought Artmatic was great but kind of a sleeper, this would change things a bit |
metawenger | July 30, 2012, 07:46:09 PM Thanks for the nice comments. It was rendered with VQuartz a new (unreleased yet) application for graphic animation, montage and special effects that can animate parameters of Quartz Composer patches. So the main rendering was done in GPU through VQuartz calling Quartz Composer. The quartz composer patch is using classical DFRM (Distance field ray marching) techniques The GPU load was so intense it would crash most of the graphic board I have but on the NVidia it worked nicely. I m thinking to give these QC patch to the fractal forum community but i'm unsure where and how to do that yet. The upcoming new version of ArtMatic Pro and ArtMatic Voyager will include the Mandelbox, the Mandelbulb, some of the systems I used for KleinianDreams and primitives to build all sorts of fractals. You can render in AM Voyager 3D systems made in Artmatic. The DFRM implementation in VY is slow but very versatile and can produce all sorts of things including plants , animals , fractals and weird objects. I will post some renderings examples in the following days. Best |

Xenodimensional | July 30, 2012, 09:51:21 AM Impressive! I found something similar to the bottom bit once but this is way cooler. |
