The same coloring should be possible in  MB3D.

You have to

* define a cut plane direct in the Mandelbulb Power 2 formula (i.e. if y>0 return NotInSet).

* choose a surface coloring of the 3D object which simplifies at y=0 to one of the nice color schemes of the inside coloring of the mandelbrot set.


Here I use the last coordinate of the iteration point and set the normalized (x,y,z) vector as (r,g,b)-Color .

I hope it will be possible to color the cut-surface in MB3D some day...
