Mikelo | October 17, 2012, 08:32:38 PM I was about to say - Looks like a pencil drawing, then noticed it's already been said. Great pic! |

timhodkinson | July 05, 2010, 01:58:32 AM Great art inspires great reviews! I'd never heard of Moebius, but after seeing some of his stuff I can really see a similarity in style. It's very much like the mandelbox which has a wide variety of intricate details all over the place. I bet the average person viewing your image would not believe it was made with a computer program and would naturally assume it was hand drawn because of the very detailed, monochrome style. Just goes to show you never know what a fractal program can do until you do it. I'll bet Jesse never imagined anything like this when he made the program. |
blob | July 03, 2010, 04:56:00 PM Oh my god, this is such a big honour, thanks for this glowing review. As you've mentioned Escher, I thought I'd mention that Moebius, whose B&W graphic line art I greatly admire, has certainly been an influence for that one. I had hoped that, by zooming deeper, I would end up finding some of those strange characters populating his graphic novels but alas none showed up. In case someone doesn't know about Moebius and is interested in finding out more, here are two links showing good fragments of his superb book "40 Days dans le Desert B": http://www.flickr.com/photos/teohyc/3936532180/in/set-72157604732571202/ http://www.welove-music.com/blog/index.php/art/jean-giraud-aka-moebius/ Thank you everyone who has been involved in creating those formulas and thank you Jesse for making them available in this gem of a program Mandelbulb 3D is. Cheers. |

timhodkinson | July 03, 2010, 04:08:13 AM I love the rendering style. Looks like a pencil drawn sketch. This is so cool! |
