Description: Description: It took me some time to get to the basic shape--some two sessions of one hour each--and a lot more to try (and fail miserably) to get it to look realistic. I am uploading the image I have so far, which has the meager resolution of 640x480, but still took me two hours and twelve minutes to render, due to the 0.1 threshold and depth two antialiasing. I believe I overplayed that one, and am correcting it at the moment. As you can see, I am still toying with attractors, which is all I used to shape, texture and color this image. It has 5 layers and the basic shape is a CosMartin attractor. The bone texture I got with fBm, but it definitely needs work. The ground is a Sierpinski attractor heavily disturbed. The eye in the middle is 100% incidental, believe it or not. As always, your comments and suggestions are very welcome. cKleinhuis | July 31, 2008, 04:31:04 AM yes, that is the reason, the other reason is that i put the formula in the wrong file, .ucl instead of .ulb because i thought this would work when uploading an .lb file ![]() but you can try uf5 easily, it is almost free to use! |
Guest | July 30, 2008, 01:17:52 PM I see the Supershape formula under ck.ucl, but as I try to use it, all I come up with is the message "contains errors". That may be due to the fact that I am using UF4 instead of 5, right? Anyway, I finally got a texture with which I am pleased on this image, which can be found on this version, already uploaded to my gallery. Take care. ![]() |
cKleinhuis | July 30, 2008, 12:56:57 PM you have to wait until kerry mitchel has created the library file form me, after that you can update your formulas collections, and would find it under ck.ulb right now, i can point you to my alternating fractal formula, where you can choose 2 fractals to be combined in the iteration loop, after updating your formula collection you find the Alternating Formula under "public/ck.ufm" after kerry mitchel has updated my account you can even nest the alternating formula, meaning, you can alternate an alternating formula .... cheers |
Guest | July 29, 2008, 06:43:30 PM Thanks for the comment, Trifox. I still have to try a variation of the sand structure on the fossil itself to see if it works, but unfortunately Sierpinski is also very expensive. You are totally right: no antialias, no quality. Still, I think I overplayed it a little, as some parts of the structure seem a bit blurred. Where can I find your supershape orbit? I'd love to give it a try. |
cKleinhuis | July 29, 2008, 04:45:41 PM great sand texture, the structure is cool, perhaps we can open up a tutorial section for ultrafractal on how to use the new features, i see you will be pleased about my supershape orbit... and anti alias is expensive but it has to be done, pictures with no anti alias look horrible, especially fractals.... |
