| June 08, 2012, 07:46:46 PM thanks a kot people. your commentas ar much appreciated! @msltoe thanks for helping explain, reading helps indeed, as i missed CeleXaoS' second question... ashes on my had.  @LAR2 coloring is indeed some kind of tricky and needs some expierience. but there are some general hints in using colors, that work quite fine. 1. complementary contrasts like red-green or blue-yellow are easy to handle. 2. do NOT balance colors too much, use one as leading and one or two as accents. does not work allways and has its limits, but is mostly a good starting point.  |

| June 08, 2012, 03:05:02 PM CeleXaos: We use the term m-set (mandelbrot set) to mean that at every pixel, the pixel coordinate is added (translated) to the transformation function. j-set or julia set means that you choose a single translation vector (coordinate) for all pixels. This leads to a more uniform image throughout space (and selects out a very specific feature of the more diverse m-set.) BTW, awesome picture. |

| June 08, 2012, 12:26:52 PM tanks CeleXaoS, reading helps in those cases - it is a mandelbox julia, like written in the description. in addition it is a box with a negative scale and rotated folding planes. some call this negscale rotbox... hope that helps. |
