Metal World #1 - Predator or Mom?
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: I almost didn't notice this little creature since he changes colors. I think I will name him "Bright Eyes". I still don't know whether it's a predator or the mother of these eggs. Further study is required... 1600x1200 is here: http://reallybigname.com/renders/images/MetalWorld01_1600x1200.jpg Special thanks to Jesse for the z-buffer! reallybigname | December 15, 2010, 11:38:05 AM Thanks, ya'll! Here's a follow up: Larger render of "lizard" alone (1600x1200, cropped from 3200x2400 for the zoom in) http://reallybigname.com/renders/images/MetalWorld01HiRes_1600x1200.jpg And, this is where he lives! reallybigname | December 14, 2010, 11:14:41 PM Thanks! But, I hope you don't mean animation, because this frame took a long time to render! However, I was already rendering a larger version so that I can do a zoom on the lizard. I tried to zoom in with the camera and adjust DE stop and stuff, but of course, it doesn't look like a lizard from other angles or with other settings! I might try again... The selective rendering thing is helping with this. I just wish I could do a really low res progressive render so I can tell where to selectively render! As it is, I set stuff to a high DE stop/raystep multiplier, so a render, then change the formula and selectively render areas - or I do a small render, then just try to guess at where to selectively render when I change it large. Actually, that gets me thinking. If Jesse could just make the old frame buffer resize properly when you change the size of the canvas, then you could get the low-res reference render from that! I'll have to submit a feature request... |
