zooreka | September 19, 2012, 09:42:45 PM @LMarkoya - I could not agree more! Could not get it to run in Wineskin, or even crossover. I loaded it onto my XP install in the VM and then found I had absolutely no clue as how to use it, could not find a decent tutorial, could not figure out how to apply gradients etc. The Zoom tool is equivalent to old Steven Ferguson Apps... totally manual and very mechanical in use. No offence Ross but there are far too many free and more advanced, easier to use and friendlier interfaced apps around nowadays for FREE. Jwildfire for one (for flames), I hated apo but I really think I could get into JWF... Much less hostile and lovely interactive renderer in the current version. It is written in Java and is presently cross platform (no need even to wineskin it!).. dotNet is something I have always hated even on windows... every time a new app is launched its another download of dotNet...and time and again my Windows installed got messed up with it... couldn't update as a dependency had not been installed, try yo install the dependency and you cannot! Yes... and now even 'friendlier' windows weight is just around the corner! I have been able to port almost all of my fractal applications to Mac... Apo7x, FE, GrafZVizon, Vhira, Flarium, Sterling, Tierazon, Inkblot that run nicely alongside My Mac Native Quadrium apps, UF and the aforementioned JWildfire. Time and again I see beautiful images generated by your application but cannot see any 'value' in it from a potential purchase point of view. Just too mechanical and non-intuitive. That said I comment you on yet another lovely image! Sorry if I come across as being very 'direct' but just being honest! |
Ross Hilbert | September 19, 2012, 05:40:58 PM Thanks Louis, I think it should work with most windows emulation software for the MAC. Let me know if you try it. |
LMarkoya | September 19, 2012, 03:58:50 PM Hi Ross...great job I really like that your program can do many things apophysis can...maybe even better......still would like to get it running with crossover or wine or something on my MAC |
