How do you get that close up effect?

DOF at high rates and using mandelbulber, as it produces a better blur quality - especially in front of the sharp plane.

are you refering to the photographic "rule of thirds" in regard to the composition?

nope, I mean this:

An easy and effective way to get harmonic compositions.

Thanks Frakkie,

Thanks Taurus,

The image is greatly inspired by your work! I have been searching for the params that reveal the fine filigree of meshes and networks that you manage to create. How do you get that close up effect? Reduce the FOV? Big renders? Obviously the DoF controls allow for a "macro" lookalike, but any tips would be most appreciated.

Not sure of your last comment, are you refering to the photographic "rule of thirds" in regard to the composition?

Thanks in advance.
Steve.

oh yes, there are a lot of things in here I'd like to process in closeups. multifaceted image!

what I would do in a scenery like this: pulling one vertical to the golden section. you are too close to ignore and too far away to forgive the gap here. grin
