A Matchmaker Julia set with two attractors, one of period 3 (red) and one of period 83 (orange). I deliberately set out to produce a seahorse crossed with a 3-fold "rabbit" style basin, and when throwing darts at the parameter space didn't work (but did turn up parameters that would eventually be the basis for some of my other Matchmaker images!) I generated an M-set image with all period-3 components highlighted and then morphed a lo-res image in real-time until a colored blob intersected with some Seahorse Valley clone or another, then zoomed in and switched to Julia.
The name of this one is a bit of a pun -- campus -> hippocampus -> seahorse, and trinity -> 3; referencing the two basins' forms.
The high prime-number period of the latter basin necessitates a very dense "star" of petals, and therefore very aggressive antialiasing, and even then the full-size image has a bit of moire. Oh, and it took
a whole freaking week to generate due to this and the accompanying fairly high iterations.
Both basins are colored using smoothed iterations.
The Mandelbrot zoom generated while locating this image is on the to-do list too. It will be titled "Twofold Seahorse Valley".
