Like most of the images I've posted so far, this was generated with Tiera-zon about five years ago, when you could get it for free.

Your question just prompted me to unpack the Tiera-zon zip file which was on the CDROM with the images.  I'm not sure what the formula was (the parameter file having long been lost), but it looks like I used either the "Rings" or "Rings I" mod in the software and set the colour to Grayscale.

Nice bit of software (IIRC it's v2.67), I must have another play with it sometime...
