what is the process here? Why did the tea expand and then contract? Also, would be cool to see an animated gif of the sequence

Forum shrank the picture - right click and view image (at least in firefox) for a proper look...

Process:  put down a few layers of tissue, break up a recently used teabag and spread it around, then put a few more layers of tissue on top.  Squash the whole thing allowing the tea to spread through the layers  (in both directions).  Then separate out the layers to dry, and go around the blobs on each layer with ink to make them stand out.

Animgif: nice idea, will see if it the inevetiable misalignment makes it look too bad...

ah ok, center out, that's makes sense... it's a neat idea for capturing a natural "analog" fractal
