thats great! i got one giclee print done last year just to test the waters and see how it turns out, and it is super awesome! whenever i think about getting more prints i think to myself, just put it off a little while im sure there must be some way i can improve my coloring algorithms first, but that thought never goes away. just need to pull the trigger on a few prints once in a while anyway i guess. the one that i did was this one and the print looks pretty good http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=17256

That's pretty neat. Here's a likely candidate if I ever get another one done, but I would probably need to reframe it in Mandel Machine at a 3x2 aspect and massive resolution. I zoom deep into the Seahorse "Ravine" at approximately -0.75+.001i http://stardust4ever.deviantart.com/art/Ravine-376323688
https://www.youtube.com/v/OI8IVnIW18c&rel=1&fs=1&hd=1I haven't done enough stills featuring shallow zooms with ornate minibrots. Fractal Extreme is good, but you get pallet bands due to 8 bits of color. A 24-bit color mode with smooth iteration bands would have gone a long way. All three of those square pictures were rendered in FX. Magnum Opus Ex took like a month! Giclee prints really seem to pop even with saturated colors that far exceed the color gamut of traditional printers.

I framed the first fractals in the 80s... A very different world then when NTSC/PAL resolution was normal and HD in the future. Now I'm handling 32K masters for 4K to 16K deliverables of locations that would have taken months/years in the 80s.

Of course, I have a framed printout from 2003 in my living room, right above the sofa.

Sort of. Attached is my splashback (behind glass) at the back of my hob in the kitchen.
I plan to print some different ones as we've just changed the colour scheme of the decor in that room.

To anyone viewing my posts and finding missing/broken links to a website called www.needanother.co.uk, I still own the domain but recently cancelled my server (saving £30/month) so even though the domain address exists, it points nowhere. I hope to one day sort something out but for now - sorry!

It's kinda hard to tell from the photo, but I got this one printed on metal. It's expensive to do, but the colors come out super bright and crisp.

thanks! Yeah I exaggerated the size of his forehead on purpose when I painted it... maybe it's too much... but the idea was that it's room for all his extra brains because he's so smart!

Is that supposed to be a young Beniot Mandelbrot? He's always been an old man in photos and interviews discussing the fractal set. Brilliant man. God rest his soul. I must admit though, you got the look and feel of dendrites in the colored bands. What media did you use for the paint?
