This was made with a combination of 3 fractals in Mandelbulb 3D and edited in Gimp 2.8
on a MacBook Pro 15in 2012 non Retina

After rendering the fractal I opened it with Gimp 2.8
Then I opened up a new layer with the background
Then I opened another layer and added the lights and the overlaying shadow on the Northwest corner of the ship....due to the overpowering light coming from below the Space Station.
