First question :
In Image Calculation Parameters there is :
CENTER-MAG=[Xctr/Yctr/Mag[/Xmagfactor/Rotation/Skew]]
where mag in case of type=mandel has initial value :
mag = 6.66666667e-01
?
Why ? Why not 1 ( no zoom ) ?
If the magnification is set to 1, the range on the Y axis is +1 to -1 - this is zoomed in too much and cuts off some of the top & bottom bulbs on the Mandelbrot set. With magnification set to .666666667, the range on the Y axis is +1.5 to -1.5, which gives a view of the complete Mandelbrot set.
Second question :
Can you find the source code where center-mag and corners are computed :
* after zoom
* after reading par file
?
After the fractal has been drawn, press the letter "z" - this brings up a screen showing the parameter values and the fractal formula. Then press F6 - this brings up the centre of the screen and the magnification amount. Then press F7 - this converts the center-mag numbers to the corners of the screen. Pressing F7 again takes you back to the center-mag values.
