Animation fans may be interested in a new website at http://FractalAnimation.com.  It's a work in progress, but it now includes 10 streaming videos and lists of DVDs and HD animations.  It's oriented a little more toward artworks than technical exploits.  The plan is to update the 10 featured videos on a monthly basis.  The current crop includes some recent animations and some classic ones, in a variety of styles.  Many are by Fractal Forums members.  Other FF members are on deck for the May edition.

my inet is capped at 1gb per month right now (expensive as hell), so i won't be able to see the anims for a while still... browsing with text only sad

Nice!

Universe #3X
Deepest fractal zoom ever made.

Ever? really? maybe by him. But it is only e89.

yes it is and a very high quality 1.4GB HD version can be downloaded from my blog http://www.hd-fractals.com

Can I just say that the zoom to e89 is a legend of a fractal video, it is one of my all time favorites and it has been a huge inspiration to me. In fact it is the video that pushed me from being a fractal animation viewer to a fractal animation creator. and it IS the deepest fractal zoom ever rendered frame by frame.

I used a method called tweening to render the zoom to e214. if i rendered it frame by frame you would be looking at literally years of rendering I cant wait that long!

One shouldn't just say "a zoom to e214". There's nothing guaranteeing that it's something interesting. I could do an E1000 zoom of a "Pixel" formula, or (if I really wanted a fractal), I'd zoom into the point (1,0) of the Mset. It would be a record.... but horribly boring. I would be more interested in the E44 zoom if the Paudelbrot's "Infinity" or something similar.

Your right - it is actually called "Mandelbrot fractal set trip to e214" because that is what it is, a trip.

I understand that some people may find this animation "boring" but for everyone who says this, there are 20+ people who say they love it. And besides it was a personal thing for me and my friends. I did not set out to please every fractal fan out there (although that would have been nice)

I have seen zooms that people have made where they go so far west that at the start of the zoom all you can see is a thin black cross for ages and they have far less detail and are even more "boring" in my opinion.

All i can say is that I hope all the people who found this trip to e214 "boring" find my next release more to their liking, not that its any skin of my nose ;P

oceans of love

Oh, no! I was certainly not trying to imply that your video was boring... it was one of the most interesting deep zooms I've seen. I'm just saying you shouldn't call it "e214" - for all that viewers know, it might be really boring, and they might not watch it for more than a minute (not expecting anything new). Or they might not watch it at all.

And why would anyone intelligent correlate "a zoom to e214" as being "something interesting".  In fact, I never saw anywhere on the blog or in the reply above where a claim was made that it would be "something interesting".  That was something only you decided to through in !!!   tongue stuck out

Ahhh....  so that must have been your animation I saw that did this.  (I should have guessed that.)    evil

Okay, I give up on the "something interesting" quote... I didn't really mean anything by it anyway.  sleeping And... uh, no, I've never done any deep zooms. Note that I said the point (1,0), not (0,1).

point taken (finally) - your saying that If someone who had no clue about a fractal then they would have no clue as to the things they could expect within the animation. I will endeavour to give more clues in my video descriptions next time - maybe i just take it for granted that people watching already know what to expect.
