We know that one from the famous sites with fractals is FRACTALUS as FRACTALUS.NET and FRACTALUS.COM developed at about year 2000.
But FRACTALUS were term invented at about year 1989 from ATARI computer games production, becuase one game on ATARI and COMMODORE and AMIGA is named "Rescue on Fractalus" developed at featuring LUCAS ART from LUCAS FILM the developer of movie series "Star Wars", what seem to game "Rescue on Fractalus" is few inspired from "Star Wars". This game is about a ship whick exploring alien planets to rescue aliens from wars. The game image is from this ship's cockpit. At those alien planet, it seeing mountain rendered 3D maybe with fractal technick (fractal landscapes), but anyhow with math algorithm. The game having and other name "Behing Jaggi-lines". There FRACTALUS is as name of alien planet populated by aliens.

An indie game on Xbox - http://www.xboxindies.com/dev/fuzzy-duck-entertainment
A user name on different sites

Fractalus is a lovely Mandelbrot explorer made by Kari Korkeila.
I played with it some 15 years ago.
Unfortunately the main page is not working anymore
http://personal.inet.fi/koti/fractalus/
But it is still available for downloading if one google "Fractalus Kari Korkeila"
