Here are some of my Mandelbrot pictures printed on 80 x 60 cm canvas:

The original images have 4800 x 3600 pixels and were created by my JavaScript Mandelbrot Generator.

Thanks! Now that I saw that you are from Sweden, I noticed that all furniture and the lamps on my photos are from IKEA...  grin

My favourite is the first one. The colors of the second one look much better on the screen than on canvas:

Oops, I guess IKEA are kind of common...like everywhere, these days.

So how did you get them on canvas btw?

This was quite easy: I created the images with 4800 x 3600 px (= 150 dpi) and uploaded them to a photo service. In my case, this was myposter.de, but there are numerous others. The service should allow PNG or TIFF file upload, not just JPG, since JPG uses a lossy compression which might result in loss of colors and details. Also the maximum file size for image uploads should be sufficient (100 MB should be OK). The cost were about 30 € per 80x60 cm canvas.

Found a local (Swedish) store, did prepare 2 images 4800 x 3600 with 3x3 oversampling (you used some oversampling as well, right?) for the same size just to find out they had 16:9 versions (90x50 cm) that I would rather have (about the same price). So now I am remaking them...

They had a 60 mb limit, but my images was just below 50 mb (png).

Yes, I used 3x3 px oversampling, although it's called "pixel interpolation" in my program, since I didn't know that other programs had this feature too and how it was called there.

16:9 is nice as well, but 50 cm height is a bit too little, so I'd rather chosen 90x60 cm (3:2). But of course, it dependes on the image which format is looking better.
