When posted in a discussion topic, large images (including gallery images) are usually scaled down automatically to a max of 1024 pixels on a side. I've seen two recent instances, here and here, where folks have avoided the resizing. How is this done?? (I haven't had any luck with the BBC width and height attributes.)

Those topics were created automatically by the forum.

When an image is posted to the gallery, it makes a topic in the forum if it is set as "linked to boards" - but as for the scaling, I have no idea why any would be resized.  I have never seen it happen.

Can you link to a topic where an image was resized?

The gallery maximum is 1200 pixels on a side, so resizing below that would be weird...

Sockratease, it seems to happen almost always.
Here a 1,200px × 900px gallery image was scaled to 1,024px × 768px.
Here a 1,200px × 797px gallery image was scaled to 1,024px × 680px.

Odd.

I never noticed that before.

No idea what causes it as it is an automated function of the forum software.

I guess the answer is that it is not under anybody's control so we just have to accept it as what it is.  I don't think it can be changed or adjusted.

Thanks for looking at the issue, Sockratease. It's very strange that the scaling doesn't occur 100% of the time.
