I don't expect one little server on the planet to be a problem. It sounds like bad unnecessary news. I don't have money to understand what "earning", "paypal" and "sale" mean but I could try and put it on a server that I use. If problems arise ever, you start selling it again. :-)) Maybe I'm in error somehow so apologies.

Well...  In the Immortal Words of the Greatest Businessman Ever - Scrooge McDuck - "ONE DOLLAR!"

[/sarcasm]

On a more serious note...

Here's my response to Jason's letter - no need to keep it private as it may encourage a Buyer!

===============================================================

Well...

Sad news, but good news that you have enough of a life outside of the internet to have need of cutting back!

Best of luck with near-to.

I am in no position to buy anything, but as you know, I am an administrator at another smf forum with only a passing relationship to fractals.

But as a result I am aware of many free hosts for forums, and can help migrate to the new server if anyone needs somebody slightly more than just vaguely familiar with the smf software. I am not very good with php, but I have strong logic skills and have always figured out what I needed to do over at Lissa's forum.

Feel free to make any buyers aware of that.

Or not.

It is all I can do to help, and so I offer.

Happy Future...

================================================

And on that note...

Let's hope for the best!

I came by accident yesterday and saw announcement. I care for fractals a lot and wrote tens of thousands of mails, posts, blogs and at the moment I feel like coming down to - nothing. The whole social networks (umm fractal networks) have assassinated the old value of one solid place, or writing messages like essays and maybe even creating homepages :-)

Anyhow, I use a linux server with some PHP 4 and so on. Its shared among friends until it stops working. I don't know immediately to recommend some other free server but hey...

Have a nice day.

HI everyone.

First of all, DON'T PANIC.

A new owner has been selected and will announce their arrival as soon as the transfer has taken place.

I have already taken backups, and a further backup in a moment after I switch to maintenance mode (i.e. no posting for the time being).

Saying that, it is always prudent for you to take your own backups of important posts.

Please your patience is appreciated while the transfer takes place.

Thank you for your support.
