Description: A Mandelbrot scepter... Because every King needs one Elvis Presley

Another of my "X chromosome" fractal patterns. Zoom depth approx 2^-715. Enjoy!

An audaciously deep zoom. A more original color scheme would have been nice, but this certainly gets an A for effort. Interesting shapes.

@Duncan: This one took somewhere between 2-3 hours on my Phenon II quad @ 3.6 Ghz, 64-bit calcs, original size = 1920x1080 pixels, 2x2 antialias. Unbelievable, I know. This is not the deepest zoom I have done though. The deepest feature I have ever rendered, is XXX Fusion Cell,

http://stardust4ever.deviantart.com/art/XXX-Cold-Fusion-Cell-154728253 (for full size download)
which took 2 days-and-something hours to render at 2700x1200 (no antialias) and 2^-1764.5 (6.8e-532) on a Quad-Core Phenom II 955 O.C. @3.6Ghz using native 64-bit Integer math calcs. I believe Fractal Exreme is perhaps the fastest Mandelbrot renderer out there. It uses multiple optimizations to dramatically reduce the amount of calculations hence the render time. The 64-bit version alone has between 3.5x-5x speedup compared to the 32bit version, which is still light years faster that UltraFractal. For comparison, the quad core machine I have at home is nearly 13-16 times as fast as my 32bit Core Duo 2.0Ghz laptop I use at school (mainly due to 64-bit calcs). So by comparison, the XXX Fusion Cell render would probably have taken a whole month on my Laptop... grin

For comparisons, I downloaded trial versions of Fractal Extreme and Ultrafractal on my Laptop and entered  identical coordinate info, on a moderately deep zoomed image. Using two cores each @ 32 bits, Ultrafractal took about 3.5 minutes to render a zoom image using plain iterations. Fractal extreme rendered the same image in 16 seconds, no BS! Also a bit cheaper, too!
You should try it out sometime, speed (esp on 64 bits O.S.) is ridiculous! head batting

Wow. That's really striking. Very vibrant-looking. How long did it take to render at such a deep zoom level?

I wish someday we can zoom up to this level in real time!
