The competition 2015 is over, thank you to all participants, contributors and voters! before i contine wit the results, some statistics. The entry count with 231 entries in total reached a new high. The participation in the voting reached an alltime high as well, 5800 counted votes which gives an average vote count of 25 per image. so, lets come to the official results, and we invite "brasnacte, pulsar and kraftwerk" to the stage. you three rocked the competition: 1 Still Frame, user Pulsar69 won the "average" and the "total" voting placing all his 3 entries in the top3! congratulations pulsar69! "Vintage" and "Somewhere in Africa" won the Still Frame competition 2. Film, user brasnacte convinced the people with his single entry "Divergent Evolution" reaching 1st place in both: total votes and best average rating! congratulations brasnacte!3. BW Image, user Kraftwerk playing in the competition since 2010 takes it all in the bw competition, where an interesting effect happens, the same 3 images occupy both lists, the best average and the total ratings, so kraftwerk wins with Fractal Architecture" and "Beelzebulb" this section. congratulations Kraftwertkand here we go with the top 3 in each category, the colums are: rank, image, username, title,

Glad to see Brasnacte winning the film section, that guy is so much better than everyone else at making fractal animations that it's barely a competition. Highly recommended that everyone check out his Youtube page to see his other works.

Wow - such an honor- also congratulations to pulsar69 and kraftwerk- excellent work there. And others as well. I'm glad I and others pushed to change the voting system- the difference between the two proves to be huge- and although the #1 winners remain the same, it's not the same piece that won. Especially in the still frame section, the top three is a totally different one, with the ones on the right representing quality much more then the ones on the left. Compare PJ's Gehenne to Zakar's Osberg Infinity - the same amount of 'total stars' but the averages couldn't be more different. Then take Alexl's 'Fractal' who's thumbnail is not exactly clickbait (hence the low number of voters). This piece wouldn't have stand a chance in the old system, but now it's in the top three because the piece is actually really good when watched fullscreen and has unexpected merit. @Fitz: thank you for the kind words and recommendations Julius

Probably worth noting that all the links in the extended results for the still frame categories are broken.

I would like to thanks Ckleinhuis and Fractal forums staff for the contest and i am very happy to see the increasing numbers of participants and vote (and quality rising !) I would like to thans Weavers for all those incredible comments ! I would like to thanks developpers, Jesse, Darkbeam and others for their works because if i had to draw with hands, i will probably be the last I would like to thanks artists like Lenord (len), Kraftwerk, batjorge, haltenny, dortus Gunst, Gary webb, and many others for their inspiring work, because i learn much from their own works ! I would like to thanks, all active members from Mandelbulb maniacs (facebook group), Ricky, barbara, Rosemary and more, for sharing tips, tricks and parameters that greatly help me to learn more with Mb3d. And last i would like to thanx and congrats all participants from the contest, Brasnacte and Kraftwerk for their well deserved victory ! And like Johan says, Two Colors mugs are more than one B/W (and perhaps than 2 B/W, Joke ! )

This was the first time I participated and I'm sure I will do next year. (I hope I will be able to, I will have exams)
