Check out the little swirl in the shadow, how's that for self-similar?

I like the way the spirals within the shadow came out, they are pretty neat to look at.  Though it seems strange, from my way of observing the image, that the direction of the light source through the object created such spirals.

What is really interesting is how the green shadow got on top of the violet-red shadow.
